The Kegley Library Fund

The Kegley Library Fund (part of the WCC Educational Foundation, Inc.) was established to support the mission of this special collections library, which is to share and preserve local history and genealogy of Southwest Virginia. Since the initial gift of benefactor F. B. Kegley in 1968, other friends and supporters have expanded the collection through their own in-kind and monetary donations. In a 1993 agreement with WCC, historian and author Mary B. Kegley began donating her impressive research collection of books, manuscripts, photographs, and research material to the Kegley Library. She continues to support the Library including regularly contributing proceeds from the sales of books that she has written to the Kegley Library. (Click below for information on purchasing these books: Books by Mary B. Kegley for Sale or for more information, email (276) 223-4876 or (276) 223-4744. Additionally the family of Dr. W. Randolph Chitwood, Sr. generously donated his local history collection to the library in 2001-2002. His wife, Ruth Anne Chitwood, has also established the “Dr. W. Randolph and Ruth Anne Chitwood Educational Endowment” which provides ongoing financial support for the Kegley Library. The Kegley Library collections are maintained through private funds.  If you are interested in contributing to  the Kegley Library please contact Dr. Rhonda Catron-Wood, Vice President of College Development at (276) 223-4771 or The WCC Educational Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax deductible as allowable by IRS guidelines.
